Uncover energy-saving potential and drive cost reduction and efficiency gains.
Uncover energy-saving potential and drive cost reduction and efficiency gains.
Energy conservation and consumption reduction hinge on equipment and are implemented at the production level. The Styrene Operations Department of Tianjin Dagou Chemical Co., Ltd., grounded in actual production conditions, has made refined equipment management a key lever for achieving these goals, strengthened risk prevention, and ensured that cost reduction and efficiency gains are translated into concrete measures applied to specific equipment and operational processes.

The Styrene Operations Department, based on actual equipment operating conditions, has implemented energy‑saving upgrades and retrofits for pumps with potential for energy efficiency improvements. For each retrofit project, the department conducts preliminary measurements and estimates the expected energy‑saving rate in advance, taking into account the pump’s operating parameters, and develops… Fixed Stringent acceptance criteria are in place to ensure energy‑saving performance. Following the retrofit, equipment energy consumption has been significantly reduced, with marked decreases in operating current and input power, resulting in a substantial reduction in electricity usage, as evidenced by preliminary… Nuclear Calculations show that this initiative can save RMB 590,000 in electricity costs annually. Moreover, following the upgrade, vibration and noise levels from the pumps have been significantly reduced, ensuring stable process operations while effectively lowering maintenance frequency and upkeep expenses. At present, the energy‑saving retrofit project is still progressing; two additional high‑pressure units are scheduled for completion by the end of this month and will enter trial operation, with formal commissioning planned for next month, thereby providing further support for reducing energy consumption.
While directly reducing energy consumption costs, the Styrene Operations Department has also extended its cost‑reduction and efficiency‑enhancement efforts to ensure stable production during the winter months. As temperatures drop, the department organized a specialized inspection of heat tracing systems to mitigate risks such as freezing, blockages in process pipelines, and equipment failures. This inspection conducted a comprehensive review of all heat tracing devices on plant‑wide process and instrumentation lines, and repaired the hot‑water heat tracing systems. 2 Location, troubleshooting electricity Companion High and low temperature, aging, fracture dot There are 18 potential hidden hazards. By optimizing trace‑heat operation and reducing heat loss, we have not only ensured the stable operation of pipelines and equipment but also further reduced the thermal and electrical energy consumption of the trace‑heat system, thereby achieving energy savings in winter production. Going forward, the Styrene Operations Department will continue to deepen refined equipment management, integrating energy conservation, consumption reduction, cost control, and efficiency enhancement into every stage of equipment operation, maintenance, and upgrades. By starting with small, everyday improvements and focusing on routine practices, the department will implement more concrete measures to advance energy‑saving and consumption‑reduction efforts, thereby contributing to the company’s transformation, restructuring, and high‑quality development.
