New measures to conserve energy and reduce carbon emissions: Dagou Chemical is advancing insulation upgrades for its high-pressure steam pipelines.
Recently, Tianjin Dagou Chemical Co., Ltd. has been systematically carrying out the replacement of the high-pressure steam pipeline insulation on its plant premises. By employing a new, highly efficient insulation material, this project effectively reduces energy losses during steam transmission, enhances the operational safety of the pipelines, and supports the company’s efforts to achieve green, low-carbon development.

High-pressure steam pipelines serve as the “energy arteries” of a chemical plant, and their thermal insulation performance directly impacts energy efficiency and operational safety. Previously, the plant’s existing insulation materials had, after prolonged service, become insufficient to meet current requirements for energy conservation and consumption reduction. To address this, the company has decided to adopt new, high‑efficiency insulation materials to comprehensively optimize pipeline insulation, thereby reducing heat loss and mitigating safety risks.

The construction is being carried out in phased sections and advanced step by step to minimize disruption to the plant’s normal operations. Prior to commencement, the company organized safety‑technical briefings and specialized training for workers, clearly defining the construction procedures, operational standards, and safety precautions, while ensuring that scaffolding, safety harnesses, protective nets, and other necessary equipment are fully in place to establish a robust safety framework. At the worksite, workers carefully remove the aging insulation from pipeline surfaces, clean away rust and debris, and prepare for the installation of new insulation; meanwhile, ground crews cut and join the new insulation materials to ensure a tight fit with no gaps.
This renovation represents a key initiative for Dagou Chemical to implement the green development philosophy and advance energy conservation and carbon reduction efforts. It is also a critical project aimed at enhancing the intrinsic safety of equipment and reducing production costs. The new insulation material adopted in this project boasts excellent thermal insulation performance and a low thermal conductivity, which helps minimize heat loss during steam transmission, extend the service life of pipelines and insulation systems, and lower subsequent maintenance expenses, thereby providing robust assurance for the long-term safe and stable operation of the pipeline network. Moving forward, the company will continue to push ahead with equipment upgrades and the application of green production technologies, steadily elevating its safety management standards and green development capabilities, thus offering strong support for the realization of the “Three Ones” initiative.
