A world first and a domestic debut—making its grand appearance all at once!

A world first and a domestic debut—making its grand appearance all at once!

New technologies, products, and solutions spanning the entire industry chain converge at the International Chemical Exhibition.

The upgrading of the chemical industry is accelerating toward innovation and higher quality.

On September 15, the 23rd China International Chemical Industry Exhibition opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. A series of world-first and domestically-debuted materials and technologies made their debut, underscoring a marked acceleration in the industry’s drive toward innovation and excellence.

This year’s exhibition is hosted by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and co-organized by the Chemical Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the China Chemical Information Center.

This year’s exhibition is themed “Embracing Innovation and Excellence, Co‑Creating a New Future,” with a total display area of 43,000 square meters. A total of 767 companies are showcasing end-to-end technologies, products, and system solutions spanning the entire value chain—including energy and petrochemicals, basic chemicals, advanced chemical materials, fine chemicals, green and low‑carbon technologies, and intelligent manufacturing.

Li Yunpeng, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, stated that this year’s exhibition brings together cutting-edge technologies, new products, and innovative solutions spanning the entire industry chain. It serves not only as a comprehensive showcase of the sector’s achievements but also as a vital platform for building consensus on collaboration and jointly advancing quality improvement. In addition to product and technology displays, the number of dedicated negotiation zones has increased significantly this year, enabling an ever-growing array of upstream and downstream enterprises to engage in in-depth exchanges, articulate their needs, and forge partnerships. The exhibition is both brimming with fresh ideas and deeply substantive.

“Novelty” permeated the entire industry chain at this exhibition, with a host of pioneering domestic and globally leading cutting-edge achievements making their debut. For example, PetroChina Daqing Petrochemical unveiled POE5080B polyolefin elastomer—primarily used in photovoltaic encapsulant films and automotive applications—and showcased “hazelnut‑fiber” acrylic fiber, the world’s only product to have achieved mass production. Sinopec exhibited new materials that have broken monopolies, including PB (polybutene‑1) pipe resin and EBA (ethylene‑butyl acrylate copolymer) cable shielding compound. Meanwhile, Juhua Group presented ultra‑pure PFA, derived from China’s first domestically developed system that meets SEMI standards.   F57-standard equipment; China National Chemical Engineering has successfully developed domestic production processes for cyclo-dodecanone and laurolactam, key monomers for nylon 12.

The trend of deep integration between digital technologies and the real economy is becoming increasingly pronounced, with 168 national- and provincial-level specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative enterprises joining forces with cross-industry tech startups making their debut at the event. Companies such as Unitree Robotics and Xi’an Quantum Intelligent Technology showcased a range of specialized robotic solutions, including explosion-proof robotic dogs, inspection robots, and sampling‑and‑testing robots, offering new pathways to enhance safety and efficiency in chemical production. Meanwhile, leading smart manufacturing equipment firms—including Hangzhou Yongchuang Intelligent Equipment, Jiangsu Jinwang Intelligent Technology, and Hongong Technology—presented cutting-edge technologies like digital twins, intelligent packaging lines, and automated inspection systems, driving the evolution of chemical manufacturing from “experience‑driven” to “data‑driven.”

This year’s exhibition also offers a comprehensive overview of the diverse pathways driving industry optimization and upgrading. Leading companies in the sector are assuming the role of “chain leaders,” guiding the entire industry toward higher‑end positions on the value chain. Many exhibitors acknowledge that competition has shifted from cost‑driven rivalry to a multifaceted contest centered on technology, quality, and sustainability; pursuing excellence has become the inevitable choice for companies seeking to break through growth bottlenecks and achieve sustainable expansion.

During the exhibition, a series of events were also held, including the 9th Smart Chemical Industry Conference, the 2026 Chemical Industry Science and Technology Information Exchange Meeting, and the China Chemical Reagents High-Quality Development Forum.
