Tracing the Footsteps of the “Two Airlines” and Uniting Our Strength to Forge Ahead
On July 31, the Party Committee of Tianjin Dagou Chemical Co., Ltd. launched a thematic education campaign titled “Tracing the Footsteps of the ‘Two Aviation’ Uprising and Uniting Aspirations for Progress,” organizing more than 20 non-Party intellectuals to visit the special exhibition hall dedicated to the “Two Aviation Uprising,” where they revisited the heroic feat of the northern flight and deepened their patriotic sentiments.
The “Two Airlines Uprising” was a great patriotic feat that took place on November 9, 1949, under the direct leadership of the Communist Party of China. On that day, patriotic employees of the China National Aviation Corporation and the Central Air Transport Corporation—both formerly part of the Kuomintang government—piloted twelve aircraft from Hong Kong to Beijing and Tianjin. Subsequently, more than 2,000 patriotic staff members of the two airlines issued a telegram proclaiming their uprising and returned home to dedicate themselves to the construction of New China. This uprising was hailed by Chairman Mao Zedong as “a patriotic act of great significance,” while Premier Zhou Enlai described it as “the starting point of the Chinese civil aviation industry, which holds boundless prospects.”

The exhibition hall, built on the authentic setting of the former terminal, vividly showcases the history of northward flights and the evolution of civil aviation through photographs, artifacts, immersive video installations, and flight simulators. During the visit, non‑Party intellectuals paused before each precious historical artifact, attentively listening to the docent’s detailed account of the uprising’s historical context, its course, and its profound significance, thereby gaining a deep appreciation for the unwavering patriotism and selfless dedication to the nation demonstrated by the pioneering generation of civil aviators. After the tour, Zhang Lin, a non‑Party intellectual, remarked: “This visit has profoundly impressed upon me the steadfast resolve of our forebears to overcome countless obstacles and return to the motherland. As non‑Party intellectuals in the new era, we must translate this spirit of patriotism into concrete actions—fulfilling our duties with dedication and striving for success—so as to contribute our wisdom and strength to the enterprise’s high‑quality development.”

Through this immersive red‑education experience, non‑Party intellectuals have further strengthened their “Four Confidences” and deepened their sense of identification with and commitment to the Party and the country’s development path. Moving forward, the Party Committee of Dagou Chemical will continue to innovate platforms for united‑front work, diversify activity formats, and unite and guide the broader community of non‑Party intellectuals to pool their strength, shoulder responsibilities, and take proactive action, thereby rallying even stronger momentum for the company’s revitalization, restructuring, and high‑quality, new‑type development.
