Empowering Standards Through Practice: Dagou Chemical Actively Participates in the Development of the National Standard for Transparent ABS

Recently, two national standards for transparent ABS—GB/T 46827.1-2025 “Plastics—Methyl Methacrylate–Acrylonitrile–Butadiene–Styrene (MABS) Molding and Extrusion Materials—Part 1: Nomenclature System and Classification Fundamentals” and GB/T 46827.2-2025 “Plastics—Methyl Methacrylate–Acrylonitrile–Butadiene–Styrene (MABS) Molding and Extrusion Materials—Part 2: Sample Preparation and Property Testing”—have been officially released and will be fully implemented in July 2026. Leveraging its end-to-end production expertise and deep technical foundation in the transparent ABS field, Tianjin Dagou Chemical Co., Ltd. played a pivotal role in revising these standards and, through its well-established standard procedures, provided critical support for key aspects of the national standards, including product quality, inspection, and performance testing.

Defining standards through practice: Core processes are anchored in the Dagou Chemicals production system.

Under the authoritative guidance of the Petrochemical Plastics Resin Products Sub‑Committee of the National Technical Committee for Plastics Standardization, the company not only supplied high‑quality reference materials and standard test specimens during the revision process and conducted comprehensive quality testing, but also integrated its long‑standing, standardized procedures in the transparent ABS field into every stage of national standard development. From product nomenclature and classification to sample preparation and performance evaluation, numerous critical steps drew heavily on Dagou Chemical’s production practices and quality‑control system, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test data as well as the scientific rigor of the standard text. During the technical review phase, the company further leveraged its expert perspective to put forward a series of practical amendment proposals, laying a solid foundation for the ongoing refinement of the standard.

Setting the Benchmark for the Future: Leading Enterprises Drive High-Quality Industrial Development

Standards serve as the guiding beacon for industry development and, more importantly, as a tangible manifestation of a company’s core competitiveness. The recent release of two national standards has filled critical gaps in the field of transparent ABS materials, covering nomenclature systems, classification frameworks, and performance‑testing methodologies. As the first domestic manufacturer to commercialize transparent ABS (MABS) resin produced via an emulsion‑grafting bulk SAN blending process, Daguhua has played a pivotal role in drafting these national standards, thereby underscoring its leading position in the transparent ABS sector and earning authoritative recognition.

Leading Development Through Standards: National Standard‑Setting Influence Bolsters the “Three Ones” Initiative

This in-depth participation in the development of the national standard not only serves as strong validation of the company’s R&D capabilities and its level of standardization efforts, but also represents a key step in advancing the company’s “Three Ones” strategy. By gaining a voice in shaping industry standards, the company has further strengthened its quality leadership and brand influence in the transparent ABS sector, laying a solid foundation and building momentum for its 2026 goal of becoming the domestic leader in transparent ABS.

Looking ahead, the company will seize the opportunity presented by its participation in drafting national standards to deepen its expertise in core areas, fully leverage its role as a technology leader, and vigorously advance the implementation of the “Three Ones” initiative, thereby assuming a leading position to drive high‑quality development of the transparent ABS industry.
